Blur's In Photoshop

MOTION BLUR

I firstly dragged the background layer down to the create new layer option in the layer palette.

I then double clicked on the background layer and then turned it into a layer.

I then went to 'Filter', 'Blur' and then 'Motion Blur'.

This then bought up a tab which allowed me to change the amount of motion blur I was putting on the photo. It also allowed me to change the angle of the motion blur.

Once that was done, I dragged the background copy layer to apply the mask option.

I then used the rubber tool to rub out the car in which i wanted the motion blur to show through the mask.

I then flattened the image so that the layers came together.

Below is my original image and my final motion blur image.

LENS BLUR

Firstly, I dragged the background layer to the create new layer option.

I then double clicked on the bottom layer named background which enabled me to turn this background layer into a normal layer.

I then selected the top layer named background copy and used the quick mask tool and the gradient tool.

Next, I drew a line where I wanted the selection for the lens blur to take place. The section appears with a red haze over the image to show where the section was made.

Then I deselected the quick mask tool by clicking the quick mask tool again.

I then went to the filter tab at the top of the screen and then clicked on ' Filter', 'Blur' and then 'Lens Blur'.

When I did this it opened up a tab which allowed me to digitally enhance and manipulate the lens blur to how I wanted it.

Lastly, I went to 'Layer', and then 'Flatten Image' to bring the layers together into one.

Below is my original image and my final lens blur image.
